63 Local Businesses Also Recognized by Community Voters
Wasaga Beach Wins Five 2025 Southern Georgian Bay Reader’s Choice Awards

Wasaga Beach, ON — The Town of Wasaga Beach has received five 2025 Southern Georgian Bay Reader’s Choice Awards, with 63 local businesses also recognized by residents for their exceptional service and community impact.
Determined through public voting, the annual awards celebrate excellence across attractions, services, and businesses throughout the region.
The Town received recognition in the following categories:
- Best Local Tourist Attraction – Wasaga Beach (Diamond)
- Favourite Place to Swim – Beach Area 2 (Diamond)
- Best Local Event – Wasaga Beach Farmers Market (Diamond)
- Best Concert Venue/Live Entertainment Facility – Wasaga Stars Arena (Gold)
- Best Recreation Facility – Wasaga Beach Youth Centre (Gold)
The awards reflect the Town’s continued investment in public spaces, recreation infrastructure, and signature events that serve residents and attract visitors year-round.
Nancy Island Historic Site also earned Platinum in the Best Museum category. Commemorating the HMS Nancy and the War of 1812, the site is an important part of Wasaga Beach’s cultural and tourism identity. Now under the stewardship of the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Gaming, Nancy Island recently received $25 million in provincial funding to support its redevelopment, strengthening its role as a key heritage destination.
Celebrating Local Business Excellence
The Town also recognizes the 63 Wasaga Beach businesses named 2025 Reader’s Choice winners. Their success reflects the strength of the local business community and its essential role in supporting tourism, creating local jobs, and contributing to community’s economy.
