Wasaga Beach Public Library wins Georgian Bay Reads

The Wasaga Beach Public Library (WBPL) is proud to celebrate that on Oct. 22, 2022, staff member Connie Cook was awarded the winner of Georgian Bay Reads for her defence of the book Daughters of the Deer by Danielle Daniel.
Six new banners recognizing veterans

The Town of Wasaga Beach and the Rotary Club of Wasaga Beach are collaborating to present six new remembrance banners that honour local veterans.
“On behalf of council and staff, I thank the Rotary Club for working with us to recognize these individuals for their service. We remember these veterans for their bravery and sacrifice,” Mayor Nina Bifolchi said.
Kevin de Groot, president of the Rotary Club, said it is an honour for his membership to play a role in the remembrance banner project.

Community Safety Zones coming to Wasaga Beach park areas
Council designated streets in the following park areas as Community Safety Zones.
- Batteaux Park
- Blueberry Trail Park
- Chase Family Park
- Deer Trail Park
- Glendale Park
- Red Berry Park
- Red Oak Park
- Wasaga Estates Park
- Wasaga Village Park
- William Arnill Memorial Park
- Mills Park
- Wasaga Sports Park.
In addition, council approved reducing the speed limit in these park areas. The new limit will be 40 kmh.

BMX Park closing for upgrades

The BMX Park next to Oakview Woods will be closed next week.
The closure is to accommodate upgrades to the park.

South Georgian Bay Specialized Transit Services - Transit PLUS

The Town of Collingwood, The Town of Wasaga Beach, and Clearview Township are excited to announce new specialized transit services within the South Georgian Bay Area. The three municipalities will be working together within a joint contract to provide parallel accessible services across the Towns of Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, and Stayner.
