Veterans Way |
Geometric Improvements on Veterans Way and Klondike Park Road and Water main Installation The geometric improvements on Veterans Way as well as the intersection of Veterans Way and Klondike Park Road are critical concerns of safety for the Town. The watermain installation limits will extend from its current termination, south of Fernbrook Drive, to the north-west corner of the Klondike Sports Park. The system extension and upgrade becomes essential when the Town commissions the fourth municipal well at the Jenetta Street well site. As per the 2018 Water Distribution System Model Update the upgrade is estimated to be required in 2032 based on the projected water demands relative to the Town’s population growth. Crews are currently installing water main and constructing the new road profile from Fernbrook to the north-west corner of the Klondike Sports Park along Veterans Way which is scheduled to be paved in November of 2020. Crews will return in the spring of 2021 to complete the top coarse of asphalt along Veterans Way and complete the intersection realignment at Veterans Way and Klondike Park Road. The project is anticipated to be completed in the summer of 2021. |
