More than $4.3 million from Playtime Casino Wasaga Beach is helping the Town deliver important community priorities without added pressure on local taxpayers

OLG Casino Revenue Helping Deliver Family Doctors, Healthcare, Community Services and Local Events in Wasaga Beach

“OLG funding is making a meaningful difference in Wasaga Beach. These dollars are helping us deliver priorities residents care about — better access to healthcare, new community infrastructure, support for local services, and projects that strengthen pride of place. It allows us to do more for our community while helping protect taxpayers from the full cost of these important investments.”

- Mayor Brian Smith

WASAGA BEACH, ON - From better access to healthcare and support for local families, to new community infrastructure, public art, resident services, and major events, casino revenue generated in Wasaga Beach is helping deliver meaningful benefits across the community.

These investments are helping the Town move important priorities forward, including:

Since Playtime Casino Wasaga Beach opened in November 2022, the Town has received $4,358,781 from Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation through its Municipality Contribution Agreement. The funding is being reinvested directly into local projects, programs, and services that enhance quality of life, improve service levels, and support initiatives that might otherwise be beyond the Town’s fiscal capacity.

Together, these investments reflect a balanced approach to community-building — supporting major projects that will serve residents for generations, while also funding practical programs and services that make a difference in people’s daily lives.

The announcement coincides with the launch of Wasaga Beach’s inaugural BeachLife Festival, a new four-day waterfront celebration featuring live music, midway rides, entertainment, and family-friendly experiences along the world’s longest freshwater beach.

In addition to the revenue generated through the casino host community agreement, OLG is also supporting Wasaga Beach as the presenting sponsor of the inaugural Wasaga BeachLife Festival, building on its partnership with the Town during one of the community’s busiest and most exciting summer weekends.

“OLG truly values being a long-standing partner in the Town of Wasaga Beach and to communities across Ontario. Every dollar of OLG’s profit is returned to Ontario to support the things people care about most, like critical infrastructure, local initiatives, and community events. Those dollars are making a difference here in Wasaga Beach. The impact wouldn’t be possible without the great team at Playtime Casino Wasaga Beach, whose work supports both the local economy and community well-being. When you play at an Ontario casino, you play for Ontario.” said Kathleen Devine, OLG’s Senior Municipal Relations Manager.

OLG’s most recent payment to the Town totaled $306,752 for the fourth quarter of OLG’s 2025–26 fiscal year, covering the period of January 1 to March 31, 2026. During the full 2025–26 fiscal year, Wasaga Beach received $1,317,499 in gaming revenue.
