New rapid-fire videos give residents direct answers about Town projects, operations and finances

Wasaga Beach Launches Ask Staff Anything Video Series

WASAGA BEACH – How does a road get selected for reconstruction? Why aren’t taxes going down? What is the Town doing to take care of the beachfront, plovers and critical habitat? What happens after a building permit is submitted? Who plans Town events, maintains parks or manages major infrastructure projects?

Residents now have another way to get answers directly from the Town employees who do the work.

The Town of Wasaga Beach is launching Ask Staff Anything a new video series that gives residents clear, straightforward information about municipal services, projects and day-to-day operations.

Presented in a short, rapid-fire question-and-answer format, the videos will feature Town leaders and subject matter experts answering questions they regularly receive from residents. The goal is to explain how municipal decisions are implemented, what work is underway and how Town services affect the community.

Topics will include:

  • road construction, maintenance and snow removal;
  • parks, recreation programs and community facilities;
  • building permits, planning and development;
  • municipal budgets, taxes and financial management;
  • emergency services and preparedness;
  • meetings, agendas, by-laws, elections, and access to information;
  • festivals, events and tourism initiatives;
  • communications, public engagement and customer service; and
  • major projects taking shape across Wasaga Beach.

With the Town’s municipal election taking place on October 26, 2026, the series will also give residents another source of reliable, non-partisan information about Town operations, finances and approved projects.

The videos will explain Town finances, policies, services and projects based on approved plans, Council decisions, public records and the professional expertise of municipal staff.

Ask Staff Anything is part of the Town’s ongoing work to make municipal information easier to find and understand. Other opportunities for residents to ask questions and participate include open-mic Town Hall meetings, weekly CAO office hours, the Ask Mayor Smith Anything series, livestreamed Council meetings and public consultations through Engage Wasaga.

Residents are invited to submit questions through the Town's social media channels in the comments.

Videos will be shared through the Town's YouTube channel and official social media accounts.
