STATEMENT BY THE MAYOR: Rest In Peace Tom Coutu

"It is with great sadness that I offer my sincere condolences on the passing of Tom Coutu, a dedicated member of our community and of the Town of Wasaga Beach’s Climate Action Advisory Committee.

Tom gave his time, energy and care to causes that will have a lasting impact on Wasaga Beach.

Through his service on the Climate Action Advisory Committee, Tom helped support important work to protect our natural environment, conserve local resources and build greater awareness around climate action in our community.

Tom was also one of Wasaga Beach’s piping plover stewardship volunteers, dedicated to helping ensure the transition to municipal stewardship was a success.

People like Tom make Wasaga Beach stronger. He gave back quietly and meaningfully, with a clear commitment to protecting the natural beauty that makes our town so special.

On behalf of Council and the Town of Wasaga Beach, I extend our heartfelt condolences to Tom’s family, friends, fellow committee members and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.

Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time."
