Public Notification of Bypass, Overflow and Spill Events

This notification has been prepared in accordance with Environmental Compliance Approval 0766-CM9RQA issued February 16, 2023 for the Town ofWasaga Beach Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP). The purpose of this procedure is to notify the Public and Downstream Users that may be impacted by an overflow, bypass or spill event.

Cause of the Event

During maintenance activities a valve was accidentally put in the wrong position leading to increased flow. As a result, a small volume of treated wastewater bypassed part of the filtration process before being UV disinfected and discharged.
