Public Notification of Bypass, Overflow and Spill Events - September 2, 2026

This notification has been prepared in accordance with Environmental Compliance Approval 0766-
CM9RQA issued February 16, 2023 for the Town of Wasaga Beach Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP).
The purpose of this procedure is to notify the Public and Downstream Users that may be impacted by an 
overflow, bypass or spill event.

Cause of the Event

On September 2, 2026, operations staff responded to several high inlet level alarms due to an active storm/high precipitation event in the area. As a result, heavy flows were directed towards to disk filters causing a brief bypass for both disk filters (overflow of secondary effluent into the UV channel)
