Cause of the Event

On August 26, 2026, operations staff placed Returned Activated Sludge valve #1 into manual 10% mode in attempt to lower the levels in clarifier #2 and #3 which were at capacity from high flows received at the plant between August 22 and August 25, 2026. As a result, heavy flows were inadvertently sent towards to disk filters causing a brief bypass for both disk filters (overflow of secondary effluent into the UV channel).
