This notification has been prepared in accordance with Environmental Compliance Approval 0766-
CM9RQA issued February 16, 2023 for the Town of Wasaga Beach Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP).
The purpose of this procedure is to notify the Public and Downstream Users that may be impacted by an 
overflow, bypass or spill event.

Type of Event – □ Overflow    X Bypass    □ Spill 
Start Date & Time – 2026/08/24 at 1345 hour
End Date & Time – Currently On-going
Total Discharge – Volume (m3): 4,216

 

Cause of the Event

From August 22 to present the plant have experience high flow events which occurred due to excessive heavy rainfall, which has caused fouling of the filters. Disk filters are unable to keep up with the surge in flows and required chemical cleaning and maintenance.
