As Cold Season Ramps Up, Town Provides Update on Community Medical Centre & After-Hours Clinic

WASAGA BEACH – As the holidays approach and cold season ramps up, the Town of Wasaga Beach is providing an update on new evening hours for its municipally operated community health centre and after-hours clinic.

Located at 160 Beck Street (at the corner of Beck Street and River Road West), the clinic opened its doors to serve residents and families in Wasaga Beach in October 2023 and has been successfully seeing patients for over six weeks. While minor delays in the hiring process and training for essential staff have contributed to delays in extending the hours of the clinic, the Town is now introducing extended evening hours of operation.

December 11, 2023 to January 1, 2024
Mondays         4:30pm - 8:30pm
Wednesdays   4:30pm - 8:30pm

Beginning January 3, 2024
Mondays         4:30pm - 8:30 pm
Wednesdays   4:30pm - 8:30 pm
Fridays            4:30pm - 8:30 pm

• The Town’s community medical centre and after-hours clinic is supporting better health outcomes for Wasaga Beach residents and families.
• The municipally operated medical centre and after-hours clinic is not a substitution for doctor recruitment. The Town continues its efforts to attract and retain doctors, family physicians and nurse practitioners, by increasing financial incentives for family physicians to $100,000 and offering turn-key, fully staffed and fully equipped office space in the Town’s medical clinic.
