The person or group considering the bench dedication will decide its location in consultation with the Parks Department prior to submission of application. An onsite meeting may be required prior to approval of location.

The Parks Department has a standard style of park bench, as shown in the image above.

Every effort will be made to accommodate your choice of location; however, changes may be made at the parks supervisor’s discretion. The approved location of a bench installation depends on proposed future development within a park, the location of underground utilities, and other site restrictions.

Commemorative benches and associated plaques will be maintained by the Town, at no cost to the applicant.

Explore Over 100 km of Trails
Wasaga Beach is a haven for trail lovers, offering more than 100 kilometres of on-road and off-road trails throughout the community. Managed by both the Town and Ontario Parks, these trails provide opportunities for hiking, cycling, and outdoor exploration in every season. Whether you’re seeking a leisurely walk, an adventurous ride, or a scenic escape, Wasaga Beach’s trails invite you to get outside and enjoy the natural beauty year-round.
Dog Parks
Let's not leave out our four-legged friends. We have two dog parks in Wasaga Beach, one located at the Oakview Woods Outdoor Complex off Mosley Street and the second at the Sports Park on Klondike Park Road.
There is also a Beachfront Dog Park located at Beach Area #3, which is under the jurisdiction of Ontario Parks.
Commemorative Benches
The Town of Wasaga Beach offers a wonderful way to pay lasting tribute to individuals, special occasions and organizations through its Commemorative Bench program in Municipal parks.
Dedicate a Park Bench in memory of a loved one or to acknowledge your Organization or Business.
- A bench with a plaque will cost the donor $2,500.00 + HST, which includes installation.
- Plaque wording is to consist of no more than 120 characters. You must include spaces and punctuation as part of the allowed characters per line. Wording will be center on the plaque and the layout will be at the Town's discretion. Bench Plaques are approximately 2" x 6" in size. To assist you, common phrases include “In Loving Memory of” or “In Tribute To” or “To Commemorate.”
- Installation may take upwards of 2–3 months from application approval; however, bench installation dates cannot be specified due to weather, parks construction priorities and special events situations.
- The donor will be notified of the date of installation of the park bench
- Payment can be made at the Public Works office, 150 Westbury Road.
*Fees subject to the current Fees & Charges Bylaw and must be paid prior to installation of the tree or amenity.
