Administrative Monetary Penalty System

The Town of Wasaga Beach uses the Administrative Monetary Penalty System (AMPS) to manage by-law infractions in a fair, transparent, and efficient way. AMPS provides a clear and accessible process for issuing, reviewing, and resolving penalties without going to court.

Short Term Accommodation Licensing

Short-term accommodations play an important role in Wasaga Beach’s tourism economy, and are regulated to ensure safety, accountability, and neighbourhood compatibility. Learn more about licensing requirements, operator responsibilities, and how we support compliance and address concerns related to short-term rentals.

Yard/Special Sales

Looking for great deals or planning to host your own yard sale? The Town of Wasaga Beach is happy to support community yard sales by providing a central place for residents to share and find local sales happening each weekend.

Whether you're treasure hunting or clearing out your garage, this page helps connect our community.

Yard sales, garage sales, and similar events are regulated as Special Sales under the Town of Wasaga Beach Business Licensing By-law. A Special Sale includes any retail sale advertised using terms such as yard sale, garage sale, estate sale, moving sale, or similar expressions.

Special Sales are permitted only between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, and each property is limited to two (2) Special Sale licenses per calendar year. All items must be displayed on private property and must be set back at least 20 feet from the roadway or street line.

For neighbourhood sales, one permit may be issued with a single fee, provided a list of all participating properties is submitted. Fees do not apply to Town-sanctioned events or charitable sales of limited duration; however, charitable events must submit a letter outlining the intent of the sale in advance.

Failure to comply with these requirements may result in enforcement under the Business Licensing By-law.

Hosting a yard sale? Submit your application to wbbl@wasagaeach.com or visit us at 30 Lewis Street, Wasaga Beach and apply directly with the By-law Department.
