The population of Wasaga Beach, similar to many other parts of Ontario, is aging, but Wasaga Beach has also become a favorite retirement destination as individuals leave the hustle of city life behind to enjoy a quieter, slower-paced lifestyle. In order to meet the needs of our aging population, we need to ensure accessible services and programs are in place. We are working with our Age-Friendly Community Advisory Committee to improve these services.
The Age-Friendly Community (AFC) Advisory Committee operates as a Standing Advisory Committee of Town Council.
The Committee is reflective of the residents of Wasaga Beach, with particular inclusion of the seniors demographic and those who represent the interests of seniors in the community.
The Committee is tasked with determining how best to implement the goals of the plan. This includes developing a communication plan between Town Council, the committee and community residents. The committee will also be establishing action plans to best execute the goals of the plan.
For more information on its members, agendas and minutes, please see our Age-Friendly Community Advisory Committee page.
