New Year, new website!
The Civic Awards Program celebrates residents who make Wasaga Beach a better place to live, recognizing outstanding contributions in four categories: Athletics, Finest Citizen of the Year, Senior of the Year, and Emergency Services. Each year, the program honours exceptional individuals whose dedication and spirit enrich the social, cultural, and civic life of our community.
Awards are given when the Committee feels a nomination truly deserves recognition. Residents can be nominated in more than one category, as long as each nomination meets the specific criteria. However, the same contribution or service can only receive one award, even if it’s nominated in multiple categories.
Nominations for the Wasaga’s Finest Citizen Awards are open until March 31 each year. To nominate an individual or group, submit a completed nomination package, including the required form and any materials that support the nominee’s contributions.
Nominations can be submitted in one of the following ways:
Important: Incomplete nominations or those submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
A dedicated review committee composed of town staff will evaluate all nominations based on:
The committee will submit final recommendations to the CAO for approval.
