The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is responsible, under the general direction of Council, to lead a team of six Department Heads in implementing Council's programs and directions in an efficient and effective manner.
The CAO is also responsible for the overall operation of the Town and is the main policy advisor to Council on municipal matters.
The CAO's office is directly responsible for the following corporate function
Responsibilities of the CAO's Office:
Administering the business affairs of the municipality
Providing direction to Town employees
Directing the development and implementation of corporate policies and programs
Ensuring Council receives the appropriate reports and information necessary for decision making
Assisting Council in the development of a corporate plan for the Town
Coordinating and directing collective bargaining with all employees and recommending to Council agreements concerning wage, salaries, benefits and working conditions once Council has approved the agreements, directing the administration of the agreements
Liaising with local boards, commissions, agencies, other municipalities, and the provincial and federal governments

Responsible for: The overall financial management of the municipality including advising Council on the strategic direction the Town should take in budgeting and managing the Town's finances. Also responsible for the accounting and reporting of revenues and expenditures for all Town operations; the receipt, expenditure and custody of municipal funds and ensuring Municipal assets are safeguarded and surplus funds are placed in interest Generating investments.
Ensures that all grants are investigated and accessed so as to earn the maximum non-tax dollars for the municipality.

Mike McWilliam - Fire Chief
Fire & Emergency Management
Responsible for: the management and administration of the Municipal Fire Department as well as the Town's Emergency Management Plan and the Corporation's Occupational Health & Safety Program.
Fire Department role
Responsible for: putting measures in place to prevent fires and reduce the loss of life and property when fires do occur, and to provide the best possible fire prevention, education and suppression as well as first response medical aid to the residents and visitors of Wasaga Beach.
Emergency Management Plan role
Responsible for: ensuring that provisions are in place to protect health, safety and the wellbeing of residents and visitors of the Town of Wasaga Beach in the event of an emergency and to prepare the required staff and resources for the extraordinary arrangements and measures that may have to be implemented in emergency situations.
Health & Safety Program role
Responsible for: working with employees to prevent occupational injury and illness and to maintain a safe and healthy workplace environment through training, education and awareness.

Responsible for: The management of the Town's major infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, water and sewer mains, water and sewage treatment, storm water management, ditches and boulevards. Also responsible for municipalTransit, fleet maintenance and winter operations. Provides engineering review services for development applications and municipal initiatives.
