The Corporation of the Town of Wasaga Beach (Town) is seeking to commission up to three (3) artists to create original artwork that will be digitally reproduced and installed as part of a series of three 12.5 ft x 11.125 ft murals commemorating the contributions and sacrifices of Canadian Veterans.
Objective
The goal of this project is to create a meaningful, year-round tribute that reflects:
- Canadian military history and remembrance
- The courage, sacrifice, and service of Veterans
- A strong emotional and educational connection to the Wasaga Beach community
Artists are encouraged to honour Veterans broadly—across all eras and branches of service. While not required, artists may also wish to draw inspiration from elements of Wasaga Beach’s local history, such as its connection to the HMS Nancy and the War of 1812.
Submissions should reflect artistic excellence while remaining respectful of the commemorative theme. Works may be symbolic, illustrative, portrait-based, photographic, or conceptual—provided they are suitable for public viewing and large-scale reproduction.
Location
These murals will be printed on vinyl and mounted to Alupanel panels, to be installed on the west-facing exterior wall of Foodland Wasaga Beach (711 River Road West). This initiative builds on the Town’s existing Veterans Banner Program and is supported in consultation with Royal Canadian Legion Branch #645 and other community partners.
Project Format
- Selected artworks will be digitally reproduced and printed on vinyl wrap
- Murals will be installed on 12.5 ft x 11.125 ft Alupanel panels (provided by the Town)
- Final artwork must be submitted as high-resolution digital files, ready for print
- The Town will coordinate all printing, mounting, and installation
Artists are not responsible for fabrication or installation of the murals.

Artists will be paid $4,000.00 for each design selected. This fee includes:
- Concept development
