The town’s Information and Technology Management Services Division continues to ensure the integrity and security of the municipality’s digital information. 

Since the cyber attack on the town in 2018, the town has implemented a series of measures to safeguard against future cyber threats based on the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

As part of the town’s ongoing due diligence, it recently contracted RSM Canada to complete a risk management assessment to identify any potential areas for improvement. The report was positive and staff implemented the recommendations contained in the report.

RSM Canada then performed a vigorous test to determine if the town’s digital information is penetrable. The results confirmed the information is secure.

Town staff, along with external experts, continue to monitor and make changes to stay ahead of potential threats.
