In order to achieve greater efficiencies, as of January 2017, the Town has restructured the way in which the Standing Committees of Council meet.
The Coordinated Committee of the Council was introduced in January 2016 and is a meeting structure that is comprised of the former Standing Committee sections of:
- Community Services
- Public Works
- Development Services
- General Government
The new Coordinated Committee generally meets on the
2nd Thursday of each month beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Classroom at Town Hall with Community Services and Public Works following immediately after. Development Services begins at the conclusion of the Public Works section and General Government commences at the conclusion of
Development Services section. Any statutory public meetings would be scheduled to commence at 11:00 am.
- Start times for the Public Works and General Government Sections will vary depending on the length of the previous meeting.
- Meeting dates may be subject to change to accommodate other pre-scheduled activities and/or holidays. Please view our meeting calendar to confirm meeting dates.
Other Notable Changes:
- All members of Council will now have a vote during all sections of the Coordinated Committee meeting. Previously, although all members were able to attend and provide comments, only the appointed members were able to vote.
- In order to provide greater efficiency, a consent agenda format has been introduced. A consent agenda means all items listed within a portion of an agenda for each section will be approved by one resolution. There is no separate discussion of these items unless a Council Member requests it, in which case the item will be removed from the consent resolution and considered immediately following adoption of the remaining consent agenda items.
