To help slow the rate of COVID-19 infection, the Town of Wasaga Beach have closed municipal facilities to the public and modified services provisions. All non-essential services, programs and events have been cancelled.

Facilities – effective May 19, 2020

Please note municipal facilities are closed to the public but town services continue and staff are available by phone and e-mail during regular business hours. Learn more here: Office Closure information

Town services at a glance

  • Arena Closed – all programs and rentals cancelled.
  • RecPlex/YMCA Closed – all programs and rentals cancelled.
  • Youth Centre/Seniors Active Living Centre Closed – all programs and rentals cancelled.
  • Town Hall Closed to public but town services continue and staff are available by phone and e-mail during regular business hours.
  • Library Closed – but curbside pickup available.
  • Public Works Closed to public
  • Fire Halls Closed to public
  • Outdoor facilities - Some of our outdoor facilities have opened. This includes tennis courts, our dog parks, the skate park, soccer pitches and baseball fields. These facilities are NOT for team use. If you utilize them please observe physical distancing. The province announced May 19 that these facilities could reopen as part of the first stage of Ontario's Framework for Reopening the province. Learn more here.
  • Outdoor playgrounds - Play structures and equipment, will remain closed until later stages of the province's reopening plan.
  • Parking - All but two town-owned beachfront area parking lots are closed. Playland Park and Spruce Street lots remain open, but will be for residents with parking passes only, starting Friday, June 5. Learn more here
  • Transit Operational No fee. FREE
  • Community Garden - Open

Limit your travel

As per health directives from upper-tier levels of government, people are encouraged to limit their travel as much as possible. Only venture out for essential trips such as work, groceries, pharmacy and medical appointments, or exercise. Seasonal residents are advised to stay at their primary residence so as not to overwhelm local resources, including first responders and General and Marine Hospital.

When you do go out, remember to practice physical distancing at all times.

COVID-19 Department Updates

Building and Development Services
  • Building Department staff are issuing permits digitally to the public and conducting inspections on site. Curbside pickup of issued permits can be arranged upon request. On job sites physical distancing must be observed by all parties. For occupied dwellings we ask that only one individual be present with the inspector and that the individual wear a mask.
