Water / Wastewater Billing

The Town of Wasaga Beach is responsible for the maintenance of the Class I Water Treatment and Class II Water Distribution system. The Town has two water treatment facilities, operated by Ontario Clean Water Agency. Water is stored in two elevated storage tanks with additional storage in the underground reservoir.

The Distribution System is operated by Wasaga Beach Public Works Department providing quality drinking water to approximately 18,000 residents.

With regard to wastewater, all raw sewage is pumped to the Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP).

The Town now offers the option for Landlords to provide a copy of the water/wastewater bill to their tenants, directly from the Town.   Please carefully read and sign the provided form in order to initiate this process and ensure it is received by the Town. Please note that WATER AND SEWER BILLS WILL NOT BE MAILED TO THE TENANT(S)UNLESS THE PROPERTY OWNER HAS SUBMITTED AN APPLICATION. Landlord Application for Tenant Billing Copies

How is my water bill calculated?

​At the Town of Wasaga Beach water billings are issued for a two month period, therefore you will only receive bills six (6) times per year.

The billing amount is calculated using a base rate for each billing period (also known as a fixed charge that is payable whether water was consumed or not), plus a consumption charge that is calculated on the amount of cubic meters (m3) of water used.  Check the rates section of the website for current rates.

How do I set up online payment for water and sewer?

At “Add Payee” stage, search for “WASAGA” (leave as a general search, not specific).  The bank should show three options:  Tax, Water or Hydro.  

Or the other choice is Wasaga Water and the account number to be used is 8 digits in length with a decimal point.

PAP’S – “If I am on a PAP, why does it show an amount owing on my bill?”

If enrolled in the Water Preauthorized Payment plan the amount is owing until the scheduled due date, at which time it will be automatically withdrawn. The bill is for your record-keeping purposes.

How can I cancel my PAP?

We require any cancellation request in writing.  Cancellation forms are available on our website.  Print, fill in the form and submit to our office by mail, fax or email. 

If you are in the town office you can also fill in the form in person.
