Building - Residential Checklist

Before beginning any construction project, please contact the Building Department to confirm if a building permit is required.


Single Family Dwelling

❑ Completed – Permit Application Form

❑ Completed – Schedule 1 Designer Form

❑ Completed – Energy Efficiency Design Summary and Guide

❑ Completed - Road Occupation Permit Application Form and approval from Public Works Department

Permit Fees

❑ 3 copies of lot grading plan (stamped by a Certified Engineer Technologist (C.E.T) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)

2 copies of HVAC design including heat loss/gain calculations and ducting layout designed by a qualified designer. Schedule 1 Designer form is required

❑ 2 scaled site plans indicating all dimensions and setbacks

❑ 2 complete sets of construction drawings including

  • Foundation plan

  • Floor plan

  • Elevations

  • Wall section

  • Cross section

  • Roof plan


Addition

❑ Completed – Permit Application Form

❑ Completed – Schedule 1 Designer Form

❑ Completed – Energy Efficiency Design Summary and Guide

Permit Fee
