Departmental Overview
The Town of Wasaga Beach Recreation Co-ordinator is responsible to provide a variety of leisure opportunities, events and courses for all ages and interests in the community. A recreation guide is mailed to all residents twice each year (early March and early September) with upcoming programs, events and sports information. Community events are scheduled annually and include the March Break, Recognition Day, Mayors Challenge Golf Scramble, Mayors Walk, Holiday Craft and Games, International Trail Day, June is Recreation and Parks Month and Canada Day.
We promote active healthy lifestyles partnering with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Units, VON and Active Transportation Committees. To ensure positive youth engagement we collaborate with SPRYNT, the Provincial Consortium for youth in Recreation and the NEW Wasaga Beach Youth Centre. As liaison to our community organizations we partner to enhance the quality of life in our community.
