Starting a Business
Before you start your business in Wasaga Beach there are some important steps to take:
  • make sure have met all Provincial and Federal government regulations
  • make sure that appropriate zoning is in place for your proposed place of business
  • make sure you have completed a business licence application for the Town of Wasaga Beach

    Centre for Business and Economic Development
    The Centre for Business and Economic Development is a one-stop resource. They will provide the information and guidance you need to get your business going and operate it successfully. They can provide you with funding services with loans up to $75,000, counselling and information services. The Centre for Business is a not-for-profit Community Futures Development Corporation sponsored by Industry Canada.(705)445-8410. www.centreforbusiness.ca.

    Land Registry Office
    The Land Registry office is located at 114 Worsley Street in Barrie (705) 725-7232 and offers a one-stop registration process for registering:

  • A.P.S.T. Number
  • Business name
  • WSIB number
  • Employers Health Tax number
  • Computers are available for the entrepreneur to register at no cost. The service will also conduct a business name search for $10. Registration fee at the the office is $70.00. Office hours are from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

    The Town of Wasaga Beach Economic Development Office
    The Town's Economic Development Officer is available to answer your questions about business opportunities. The office is located at the Town of Wasaga Beach Administration Office, 30 Lewis Street, Wasaga Beach or via email:

    Financial Services within the Community
    There are a number of financial services available in the Town of Wasaga Beach including TD/Canada Trust,Meridian Credit Union and Scotia Bank. There also a number of financial planning consultants, financing consultants, chartered accountants and bookkeeping services.
