Animal Control:
The Town of Wasaga Beach provides Animal Control Services 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The contracted Animal Control Officer responds to calls related to dog’s found to be at large (off owners property) and deceased animals (including wildlife) on municipal property and roadways within the Town of Wasaga Beach. The Animal Control Officer is not responsible for calls related to wildlife on private property, rabid wildlife or cats. The Animal Control Officer is also not responsible for animals within the Wasaga Beach Provincial Park and complaints should be forwarded to the Park Office at 705-429-2516
To contact the Animal Control Officer please call the Municipal Law Enforcement Department 24 hours a day at 705-429-2511 and the Officer will be paged.
Wildlife:
For questions or to report concerns about Wildlife please contact the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) at 1-800-667-1940 or visit their website at
www.mnr.gov.on.ca. For deceased wildlife on municipal property or on a roadway please contact the Town of Wasaga Beach Animal Control Officer at 705-429-2511.
Rabid Animals:
To report possible cases of rabies or if you have been in contact with a rabid animal; please contact the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit at 1-877-721-7520 or contact a health care professional.
Bears:
To report Bear problems please contact the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) BEARWISE program at 1-866-514-BEAR (2327). For an immediate emergency please call the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or 911 if required.
