- The Guide to Eating Ontario Sportfish shows that Georgian Bay (Lake Huron) has the cleanest fish of all the Great Lakes.
- You can continue to fish on the shores of Montgomery Rapids when the river begins to freeze in winter.
- The shore on the river in front of the Wasaga Beach Public Library is an excellent fishing spot.
- A
valid fishing licence is needed. You can purchase it locally at Wasaga
Marine, 1237 Mosley Street OR Great Lakes Outfitters, Highway 26 just
west of Wasaga Beach

- You
must obey the regulations for recreational fishing. Pick up a copy of
the Recreational Fishing Regulations Summary to find out which fish are
in season and other important information that can keep you out of
trouble.
- You can contact the Wasaga Beach Fish camp; Game
Club for a current fishing report. Weather and water temperature can
dramatically alter the fishing conditions.
