We, at the Town, receive many, many inquiries about our community, its services and amenities.  Many of those Frequently Asked Questions, "FAQ's", are shown below.

  1. How do I book a delegation before Council?

    Deputations to Council or Committees, are to be received in writing, stating your name and the topic you wish to address.  Forward your request to the attention of the Clerk or call (705) 429-3844, X2223.

     


  2. Are complaints confidential?

    Yes

     


  3. Is there a by-law establishing the number of dogs permitted per household in Wasaga Beach?

    By-law 2002-63 regulates and controls animals within the Town of Wasaga Beach and establishes that a household may have two dogs.

     

     


  4. Where do I obtain a landfill voucher?

    Property owners are permitted two vouchers per year (each valued at $25.00).  You may obtain your  vouchers by attending the Public Works Office (with personal identification), 150 Westbury Road, during the week or on the weekends (with your current Wasaga Beach tax bill) at the Chamber of Commerce office, 550 River Road West.

  6. Where can I obtain my vehicle plate renewal?

  7. Can I rent my home as a vacation property?

    Properties that are zoned for single family dwelling use may not be rented as accommodation for the travelling or vacationing public as this is considered a commercial activity and is not permitted.

     

     


  8. Why do I need a building permit?

    A building permit ensures that all developments in the community meet the health, fire, structural and general safety standards in order to protect individuals and the community as a whole.  It is illegal to start work without a permit.  Anyone who begins working without a building permit is in contravention of The Ontario Building Code Act and therefore, subject to financial and legal consequences.

     


  9. How much time is a delegation allowed before Council or a Standing Committee?

    Delegations are usually limited to ten (10) minutes.

     


  10. Where do I leave mail for Council Members?

     

    The Mayor and Members of Council have mailboxes at the Town Administration Office, 30 Lewis Street.

     


  11. Where's the Mayor's Office?

    Our Mayor's Office is situated at the Town Administration Centre at 30 Lewis Street.  He may be contacted by calling (705) 429-3844.

     


  12. What landfill sites are available to Wasaga residents?

    Wasaga Beach residents may utilize the Nottawasaga Landfill Site #10, #5715 30/31 Sideroad, off Highway 26, approximately three kms north of Stayner or Landfill Site #3/5, Elmvale/Flos North, located at 1835 Flos Road Ten East, Township of Springwater.

  14. Where can I buy garbage tags?


    Waste services in Wasaga Beach are now managed by the County of Simcoe.  Garbage bag tags are required if you have more than two bags of garbage.  The tags may be purchased at:

    You may purchase a blue box or a grey box from the Town's Public Works Department at 150 Westbury Road at a cost of just $5.00 each.

  20. Who should I call if I find an injured animal?

    The Ontario Society for the Protection and Conservation of Animals (OSPCA) operates a Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre in Midland.  The telephone number to call this agency is (705) 534-4350.
