INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE POSITION OF
JUNIOR ENGINEER/TECHNOLOGIST

The Town of Wasaga Beach is seeking an innovative Team Player with superior skills in Municipal Engineering Services, Project Supervision and Public Works Maintenance Operations.            

QUALIFICATIONS:

Licensed Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) with a minimum of Five (5) Year’s experience in Ontario.

SUMMARY OF WORK:

- Working knowledge in GIS and GPS Operation
- Work as required by the Public Works Department, including updating municipal engineering records, drawings and preparation of overall infrastructure plans
- Drawing and file management
- Maintaining infrastructure inventory lists
- Carry out field surveys, under the direction of Senior Staff, including construction layout, quantity surveys and pre-engineering surveys
- Assist in the design of municipal works under the direction of The Public Works Director
- Other related duties as may be required

IT Administrator


The Town of Wasaga Beach, located on the shores of Georgian Bay, in the County of Simcoe, with a current population of approximately 16,000 is seeking an energetic self motivated individual to perform the duties and responsibilities of Information Technology (IT) Administrator.

Salary Range:  

The salary range for this position is $49,524.80 to $57,928 – 40 hour work week. (Under review)  The Town of Wasaga Beach offers a comprehensive benefit package.

Duties:

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, Information Technology Administrator will be responsible to manage activities related to systems development, application support, network database management, records management, security, telecommunications and office automation support, including the purchasing of equipment.  Develop the IT strategic plan, assisting all departments with IT needs and program development, administer and manage data storage and provide technical reviews of projects, interfacing with multiple third party vendors, high level projects management and provide input at Department Head meetings on IT initiatives.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess three to five years previous related job experience as an Information Technology Administrator.   They must have a University Degree in a computer related program.  Those with a Community College Diploma may apply, but will be required to have greater experience.

They must be team oriented with operational leadership and communication abilities and able to work with elected officials, department heads and staff.

Assistant to the CAO (Three Year Contract)


The Town of Wasaga Beach, located on the shores of Georgian Bay, in the County of Simcoe, with a current population of approximately 16,000 is seeking an energetic self motivated individual to perform the duties and responsibilities of Assistant to the CAO.

Salary Range:  

The salary range for this position is $49,524.80 to $57,928 – 40 hour work week. (Under review)  The Town of Wasaga Beach offers a comprehensive benefit package.

Duties:

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Assistant to the CAO will be responsible for undertaking special projects in the CAO’s office, including implementing the recommendations from the Tourism Strategy, developing a made in Wasaga Beach Green Plan, updating administrative and corporate policies and procedures, and generally assisting with economic development initiatives. The position will also be responsible for developing and implementing a corporate communications plan, including updating the Town’s web site and undertaking other administrative tasks as required. 

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess three to five years previous related job experience in a municipal or non-profit setting with a background in public administration, economic development, and land use planning or related field.  Must have a post secondary degree or diploma in a related field.  Experience working with web sites and implementing corporate communication strategies using a variety of media is important.  Proficiency with computers and office software is essential.  A valid Ontario driver’s license is required.

They must be team oriented with operational leadership and communication abilities and able to work with elected officials, department heads and staff.
