Building Permit Application Information

• Irrigation Systems (inground sprinklers) - building permit is required.  The permit fee is $50.00 and an inspection will be done at the completion of the installation of a backflow preventor to ensure that safety of both the Municipal water system and the water quality within the residence.

Building/Plumbing Permits

Permits are required for, but shall not be limited to, the following:

• construction of all new residential, commercial, industrial and institutional structures
• additions to any residential, commercial, industrial and institutional buildings
• plumbing
• water and sewer connection to Municipal services
• septic tank applications
• interior renovations
• for example, attached/detached garages, accessory structures, decks, pools

In accordance with By-law 2005-85 and Bill 124, being a By-law respecting construction, demolition and change of use permits and inspections.

Inspections

Inspections are required for all work relating to building and/or plumbing permits and water/sewer connection permits issued by the Municipality.

The Building Department requires that forty-eight (48) hours notice (minimum) be given when requesting an on site inspection.
